Google has confirmed its next Pixel launch, while leaks have already given us a possible look at the phones and their new features.
Another Pixel launch is just around the corner. Google will unveil the Pixel 11 series in August, and although the company is saving most of the details for the event, it has already confirmed the name and launch date.
Naturally, that has not stopped information from appearing online. Leaks point to a new processor, updated cameras and an unusual light built into the camera section. Some of these reports appear believable, but none should be treated as final until Google confirms them.
Google has set the launch date
The Made by Google event will be held in New York on 12 August 2026 at 6 p.m. Eastern Time. That works out to 3:30 a.m. IST on 13 August for viewers in India.
Google says the Pixel 11 series will be introduced at the event, with pre-orders opening on 12 August. We still do not know exactly when the phones will begin reaching customers.
We may get four Pixel 11 models
If the leaks are accurate, Google is preparing four versions of the phone:
- Pixel 11
- Pixel 11 Pro
- Pixel 11 Pro XL
- Pixel 11 Pro Fold
The Pixel 11 would be the regular model, while the Pro and Pro XL would bring more advanced cameras and displays. The Pro Fold would be the folding option, opening into a screen closer in size to a small tablet.
Google has only confirmed the Pixel 11 series for now. It has not formally introduced these individual models.
Tensor G6 is the upgrade worth watching
The biggest change may be hidden inside the phone.
The Pixel 11 is expected to run on Google’s new Tensor G6 processor. According to leaks, the chip could improve general performance, camera processing and AI features. It may also work alongside a new mobile modem and an updated Titan M3 security chip.
Tensor G6 is reportedly being produced using a 2-nanometre manufacturing process. In simple terms, this could help Google build a chip that performs well without using as much power. That sounds promising, but a newer chip does not automatically guarantee better battery life or faster performance. We will need to see how it works in the finished phone.
What exactly is Pixel Glow?
Google’s early teaser shows a small, colourful light in the camera section. Reports call it Pixel Glow, and it could become the most noticeable new addition to the phone’s design.
Its actual purpose is still a mystery. The light might show notifications, charging progress or AI activity, but Google has not confirmed any of those uses. We only know that the coloured light appears in the company’s teaser.
There are also reports that Pixel Glow will replace the temperature sensor found on earlier Pixel Pro phones. Whether people find it genuinely useful will depend on what Google allows it to do.
The cameras could get a useful upgrade
Pixel phones have built much of their reputation around photography, so camera improvements would hardly be surprising.
The regular Pixel 11 is rumoured to have a new 50-megapixel main camera. Google may also update the main and zoom cameras on the Pro models.
A feature called Ultra Low Light video has appeared in reports as well. It is expected to make videos recorded at night look brighter and cleaner. More importantly, the processing may happen directly on the phone instead of depending heavily on an internet connection.
Neither the new camera sensors nor Ultra Low Light video has been officially announced.
Do not expect a completely new design
Leaked images show a phone that still looks very much like a Pixel. The rounded corners and horizontal camera bar remain, although the borders around the screen could become thinner. The camera section may also have a darker finish.
Reports suggest that the standard model could start with 256 GB of storage and 12 GB of RAM. Earlier leaks mentioned different RAM options, so those figures are far from settled.
A higher price also seems likely. Google has acknowledged that rising memory costs will affect prices across the Pixel family, but it has not shared the final numbers. One report places the regular Pixel 11 at about $899 in the US. There is no confirmed Indian price yet.
Is the Pixel 11 worth waiting for?
With the launch so close, waiting makes sense if you are planning to buy a premium Android phone.
The rumours are interesting, particularly those surrounding Tensor G6, Pixel Glow and the improved cameras. Still, the details that matter most remain unknown. Google needs to confirm the prices, battery life, charging speed, model options and availability.
Those answers will arrive at the Made by Google event. Until then, the Pixel 11 looks promising, but it is best viewed as an upcoming phone rather than a finished product we can already judge.
